A lot of women think they’re still waiting to be married because of God’s timing, but in many cases it’s not God’s timing at all. Women are often standing in their own way. Usually, it’s because of the things they’ve done or continue to do that may have either slowed or stopped what God is trying to do.
The prayers in this article are introspective prayers that focus on you instead of your future husband. They are prayers that will help to remove one of the biggest obstacles that could be standing in your way, YOU!

If you have not been taught how to pray for marriage, you could be praying ineffectively and not getting results. Some of you would have been married years ago, but there may be things you’re unaware of that are holding you back. Let’s jump into three prayer topics that will destroy any hindrances to you being fulfilled in God’s plan for marriage.
#1 - Community
Marriage is a perk of being a part of a thriving Christian community, where your husband should actually come from. But you can’t marry someone, if you’re not engaging with suitable men on a regular basis. Pray that the Lord provides for you a thriving Christian community with an abundance of Godly, suitable, handsome men that will be in your daily surroundings with whom you can fellowship with. Ask Him to help lead and guide you to this community, and be open to wherever the Lord leads you.
This is one of the single most important prayers you can pray when it comes to finding your future husband. Many people want to pray things into existence spiritually but work against those prayers by what they do with their lifestyle. Being a part of a thriving Christian community that has suitable men is one of the best ways to meet your future husband.
#2 - Your Heart, Mind & Attitude
Ask the Lord to show you anything about yourself psychologically, emotionally and socially that could be preventing you from meeting your future husband. Ask the Lord to expose and remove any bitterness, pride and resentment in your heart for any reason, so you can be kind, approachable and actually speak to and befriend the men in your Christian community on a regular basis.
You don’t just want to have these men physically near you, you want to be in regular fellowship with them. This heart attitude of bitterness, pride and resentment will erode at your marital success when you do get married. Ask God to show you if there is anything about the way you act or the way you are that keeps the right men away.
#3 - Bad Taste in Men
Ask God to purge your heart from any attraction or affinity you have to the wrong type of men and Christians that will waste your time. Ask God to prune your taste by removing any attraction to the wrong ones and increase your attraction to Godly men. You also want to ask God how to have better discernment of genuine men of God. Avoiding wasting time by starting bad relationships is extremely important.
Remember that God is not your magic wand that you can wave and make anything happen, if you’re actively working against the fulfillment of prayer with your lifestyle, you can cancel the hand of God with what you’re doing. God has given us a free will and He will not override that.
These prayers should not be one and done prayers, you want to PUSH, Pray Until Something Happens as the Lord leads you and expect results. When the Lord shows you the things you need to change about yourself, start working on it and use scripture to renew your mind in that area. Our soul is saved, but our brain still has to be renewed and transformed.
